The Second THESEUS Publication „Which Way Forward? Present Challenges, Strategic Choices and Future Perspectives of the EU” has been released
The second issue of the THESEUS series on European integration brings together contributions by outstanding academics and practitioners, such as Professor William E. Paterson, Professor Jaap W. de Zwaan and Professor Sabine Saurugger, as well as young promising researchers. Their articles analyse current issues of the European integration process, focusing on the EU after the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaties, the Franco-German tandem and different aspects of Europeanisation.
The publication also gives an overview of the main recent activities of the THESEUS programme, including the annual conferences and the conferment of the THESEUS awards for outstanding and promising research on European integration.

THESEUS Conference and Award Ceremony 2013
This year's THESEUS Conference took place in Vienna 17-18 October 2013. It was dedicated to the topic "A vision for post-crisis Europe: Towards what kind of Political Union?".

The THESEUS Award Ceremony took place on 17th October 2013. Professor András Inotai and Dr Francisco Seoane Pérez received the THESEUS Awards for Outstanding and Promising Research on European Integeration, respectively.

THESEUS Visiting Professorship 2013
The THESEUS team welcomes Dr Olivier Rozenberg from Sciences Po Paris to his visiting professorship at the University of Cologne. Dr Rozenberg will teach a Master’s course on ‚National Parliaments in the European governance: investigating Montesquieu’s myth’ during this year’s winter term. THESEUS Seminar for Young Leaders 2013
Every year, the THESEUS Seminar for Young Leaders brings together young leaders, and recognised researchers and practioners in order to promote interdisciplinary and international networks among a new generation of Europeans. First THESEUS Publication “European leadership in challenging times – academia & politics in dialogue” has been released
„European leadership in challenging times – academia & politics in dialogue” gives an overview over the activities that have been realised between 2009 and 2011 within the THESEUS project. Researchers and practitioners like Prof. Helen Wallace (London School of Economics), Prof. Christian Lequesne (Sciences Po Paris), Dr. Angelica Schwall-Düren, the Minister for Federal Affairs, Europe and the Media of the State North Rhine-Westphalia and Dr. Dietrich von Kyaw, Ambassador rtd. and former Permanent Representative of Germany to the EU, discussed the principal challenges that faces the EU nowadays.
