Inaugural Address of THESEUS Visiting Professor Emiliano Grossman

On 12 May 2015, 7 pm, THESEUS Visiting Professor 2015 Prof. Dr. Emiliano Grossman will hold his inaugural lecture at the University of Cologne. In his speech, the French professor will address the relationship and related tensions between the evolution of capitalism and the future of democracy. The event will take place at the University of Cologne (Gottfried-Keller-Str. 6, 50931 Cologne, building 203). Participation is free and open to everyone interested in the topic discussed. Emiliano Grossman is Associate Professor at Sciences Po in Paris, working at the Centre d'études européennes (CEE). He teaches courses on comparative politics and political competition and is co-convenor of the Master’s Programme in European Affairs. In his Master seminar "Democracy in times of crisis" at the University of Cologne, Grossman will discuss the theoretical and empirical foundations of democracy and their performance in a period of crisis and continuing globalization. Prior to his stay in Cologne, Grossman spoke with us about the contents of his seminar and his expectations of participating students.
